Under general direction of the Request Case Management and Enterprise Service Delivery Information Technology Manager I (IT Mgr I), the Information Technology Specialist II (IT Spec II) will act as a technical facilitator related to the coordination and tracking of request projects and various items. Assignments require an advanced level of organizational understanding and support of innovative technical pursuits. The IT Spec II will be a part of a team responsible for ensuring that the Service Delivery Lifecycle methodology is being utilized during the data gathering and build of a California Department of Technology (CDT) service request. The IT Spec II is a point of contact that will facilitate and clarify requirements to help ensure end to end service management and governance of requests through the prioritization, scheduling, and tracking of requests.
- This position is an advanced level strategic leader accountable for ensuring that the Service Delivery Lifecycle methodology has developed and documented complex technical standards and governance for operational practices. Additionally, the IT Spec II will be accountable for ensuring that the ESD processes are completed from the initiation of a request to the closeout of the request including solution development, builds, and decommission activities and provides direction to the ESD participants ensuring the timely and satisfactory fulfillment of requests. The IT Spec II is a technical liaison who will participate and lead in technical project management onboarding activities which include but are not limited to confirming high-level requirements, ensuring required documentation is complete, architectural reviews, gathering and scoping calls, and planning implementation schedules. Additionally, partner with our Customer Engagement (CES) and the Office of Technology Services (OTech) Architectural Team representatives to assist customers with both the initiation and execution of service requests.

- Periodic weekend and off shift work may be required.
- May be required to carry a cell phone.
- Some travel may be required to perform assigned duties, attend customer department meetings, attend training/conferences, or provide customer support.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and able to adjust work schedule to meet operational needs which may occasionally include off-shift and/or off-hours.
