- The Office of Life, Justice, and Peace (OLJP) implements the vision of Archbishop José Gomez on social issues by offering strategic leadership to parishes and community partners through education, advocacy, prayer and service. OLJP promotes the common good, rooting.- initiatives in the reality that each person is created by God for relationship with him and in community with others.- The Archdiocese of Los Angeles, with our vast ethnic, cultural, and economic diversity, is a small manifestation of the universal Church. Promoting authentic human development in this context requires a culture of encounter and a transformative commitment to solidarity.- OLJP focuses on the issues of abortion, assisted suicide, death penalty, human trafficking, homelessness, poverty, foster care, healthcare, post-abortion healing, religious freedom, and environmental justice within the context of developing an authentic human ecology for the communities of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.- The Associate Director for Parish & Community Leadership (ADPCL) of OLJP is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with regional bishops, regional leadership teams, deans, pastors, and leaders in parishes and schools within the archdiocese. The ADPCL develops and provides leadership training and support to a variety of ethnic communities, in both English and Spanish. The ADPCL works within parish communities to support life, justice and peace leadership teams that support life-affirming ministry with great care to the cultural needs and preferences of the parish community.- The ADPCL possesses detailed knowledge of all OLJP projects and programs and is dedicated to advocating and advancing these priorities within the agencies, parishes, and schools of the archdiocese. The ADPCL is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with leaders of strategic partners in the community. The ADPCL develops and provides leadership training and support. The ADPCL works within parishes and the broader community to build partnerships and strategic collaborations that support life-affirming ministry.- The ADPCL possesses detailed knowledge of all OLJP projects and programs and is dedicated to advocating and advancing these priorities within the agencies, parishes, and schools of the archdiocese. The ADPCL operates within the structure of OLJP and works with a high degree of independence, initiative, and prudence, and adheres to strict professional standards of confidentiality.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.
- Assess needs of parishes, schools, and families within the archdiocese to determine strategy for creation and execution of Archdiocesan-wide initiative aimed at evangelization of the Latino community toward greater leadership and involvement in social ministry.
- Utilize detailed knowledge of community organizing, parish structure, missionary discipleship, and Church teaching to evaluate priorities, timing, necessary resources, and implementation of new initiative.
- Develop annual operations budget for any new resources and events, including training and support services.
- Create marketing plans for parishes and schools.
- Establish a strategic plan.
- Create a sustainable parish leadership training program in parishes throughout the archdiocese.
- Construct and facilitate curricula based on Catholic social doctrine and focusing on OLJP goals and objectives.
- Identify and train speakers/facilitators/workshop leaders.
- Organize regular meetings with parish leaders.
- Provide on-going support for leaders and teams.
- Identify materials that meet the needs of the people and institutions in ADLA; promote programs.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director for Projects and Programs to create materials and assets that meet the needs of the people and institutions in ADLA.

- curricula,
- retreats,
- events,
- trainings,
- parish materials,
- and media
- Provide formal presentations and timely information to the OLJP team and other ADLA leaders, lay leaders, donors, and parish groups on effectiveness of strategy and initiative goals.
