Responsibilities:

- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare and maintain dental materials and supplies
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform medical documentation and record patient information accurately
- Assist with patient assessment, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Utilize medical coding systems for billing purposes
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating dental prosthetics
- Specialize in providing dental care to pediatric patients
- Maintain and update patient medical records

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assistant program preferred
- X-ray certification required
- Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, especially children
