**Job Summary**:
The CAD draftsman directly supports the Metalforms Purpose through the detailed drawings of pressure equipment as well as the improvement of the Design, Production and CAD systems. This position works closely with the Engineering Design Team, Engineering Operations Manager, Engineering Manager, and Production to ensure that Metalforms is accurately and efficiently producing detailed drawings for new fabrication, repair and alteration of pressure equipment for current and future customers. The CAD draftsman will work to provide our customers with safe and economical solutions to their pressure equipment needs. Coordination with the entire CAD & engineering department will be necessary to develop and /or standardize procedures and training. This includes researching and identifying new drawing tactics and tools as well as new innovations in the petrochemical industry that will allow our customers to increase production or reduce and avoid down time.

- Time to Check Outline, Weld map & BOM
- Time to check Detail Drawings

Evaluate quality of Drawings
- # of total errors on drawings after file passed to 1st check
- # of total errors on drawings after file passed to 2nd check
- # of spec requirement not applied in notes page

Evaluate CAD draftsman knowledge & potential for next level of responsibility.
- Time to create job releases, PWHT form, QC check list, ITP
- Time to handle turnaround jobs

- Time to handle engineering firms documentations

- Assist Estimate department with workload as workloads shift.
- Contribute in the CAD draftsman hire process.
- Organize and provide training for staff in CAD group as needed.
- Participate in Kick-off & Pre-fabrication meetings.
- Contribute to improvement teams.

- Proficient Computer skills in spreadsheets and word processing.

- Accelerated knowledge of ASME Code, TEMA, API and other design standards.
- Accelerated knowledge of all fabrication steps/processes involved with heat exchanger repair & manufacture.

**Education**:

- 2-Year Degree in CAD at a minimum or equivalent Heat Exchanger experience with degree in another field.
