**Summary**:
Manages and oversees the Employee Safety or the Occupational Safety and Health program. Plans, organizes, and directs efforts supporting corporate safety objectives by promoting a safe working environment and improving the safety culture. This position will create, implement and improve upon programs designed to reduce industrial illnesses, injuries, fatalities, and loss or damage of property.

**What You'll Do**:

- Develop management policies to assure compliance with government regulations and protect loss or injury to SRP employees, property, and clients.- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Establish and oversee accident investigation methods and conducts investigations of serious accidents to employees or property.
- Develop employee safety awareness, industrial hygiene programs and publication of safety records, articles, and training.
- Direct and manage SRP industrial hygiene program to meet all OSHA regulations on occupational health or industrial hygiene.
- Advise, mentor, instruct, review and train subordinates in the performance of their duties.
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and management of annual labor and budget requirements.
- Maintain, review, and revise safety policies and procedures.
- Promote safety program participation to employees; provide support to public safety or community outreach programs.
- Produce regular status reports and departmental updates.
- Oversee the development and implementation of fleet safety program for all motor vehicles and mobile equipment used in SRP operations.
- Maintain awareness of current professional practices and trends in safety management.
- Perform related work as required.

**What It Takes To Succeed**:

- Must be willing to attain Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), and/or other professional certification(s).- Knowledge of water and electric utility construction and operation techniques and processes.
- Knowledge of best safe working practices, industrial hygiene principles, and safety management techniques.
- Ability to recognize psychological factors relating to safe group and individual behavior.
- Ability to orally communicate effectively to large and small groups at all levels of the corporate hierarchy.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering schematics.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
- Appropriate respirator medical certification, fit testing, and training required.
- Ability to evaluate work environments for potential health hazards.
- Ability to conduct employee and public education and training programs.
- Skill in using a variety of instruments for measuring environmental safety.

**Experience**:
Minimum of 7 years cumulative and progressive professional experience

**Education**:

- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.**Hybrid Workplace**
