**Employee Benefits at the City of La Marque**:
**_ Medical Insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield)_**:
- The City covers the full premium for the employee.
- Dependent coverage is available, and the cost is covered by the employee.
**_ Dental (Blue Cross Blue Shield):_**
- Dental coverage is provided as part of the benefits package.
**_ Vision (EyeMed):_**
- Vision coverage is available for employees and dependents at a very low premium.
**_ Life Insurance (MetLife):_**
- Employees receive $50,000 in Basic Life Insurance coverage.
**_ Insurance Effective Date:_**
- All insurance plans become effective for new hires 30 days after their hire date and on the first day of the next month.
**_ TMRS (Texas Municipal Retirement System):_**
- Each employee contributes 7% of their salary per pay period into the TMRS retirement system.
- Once vested (after 5 years of service), the City matches contributions 2-1 by the time of retirement.
- Eligibility for retirement is attained after 20 years of service or reaching age 60, whichever comes earlier, plus being vested for five years.
**_ Vacation/Sick Leave:_**
- Employees earn 6.7 hours of vacation per month.
- 8 hours of sick leave per month are granted.
**_ Holidays:_**
- Employees enjoy 12 paid holidays annually
**_ Longevity Pay:_**
- After 12 months of service, employees begin earning $6.00 per month of longevity pay.
- In November, a paper check is issued, reflecting the total accumulated, which grows every year.
**_ ICMA (457 Plan):_**
- Similar to a 401K, the ICMA is a supplemental retirement plan with tax advantages.
- This plan provides additional options for retirement savings and investment, offered alongside the TMRS plan.

- A free, confidential benefit providing short-term counseling, resources, and referrals for employees and their dependents.
**_ Premier Pension Solutions (Section 125 Cafeteria Plan):_**
