**Duties**:

- You will use various rigging materials such as pallet jacks, tackle blocks, shackles, dollies, steel cables, chain falls, and wire and fiber ropes to select and install the appropriate type and size of gear.
- You will use equipment to lift, move, and position a variety of large and heavy equipment, machinery, and supply items.
- You will perform tasks that are part of a Rigging Worker's job requirements as applicable to the disposal of excess surplus property.

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

**Qualifications**:

- Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must demonstrate the ability to perform the following: using established rigging practices, installing weight handling gear to lift, move, and position heavy equipment, machinery, or other loads for movement by crane or other mobile material handling equipment, working in open areas; and using standard hand signals.**Education**:

**Additional information**:
Relocation expenses will not be paid.

This position requires standing, climbing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting items weighing 100 pounds or more. You use dollies, hand trucks, hand-controlled cranes, chain falls, jacks, hand tools, electric tools, hydraulic lifting devices and various other rigging equipment requiring some physical coordination to operate.

You may be exposed to the possibility of injuries from falls, moving objects, sharp edges, industrial smoke, fumes, dust, and the possibility of strains and skin irritants. You may be exposed to fumes and odors, dampness, poor illumination, dust, greasy and dirty conditions. You must work indoors and occasionally outdoors, and at times in areas where electrical shock may be a hazard.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
