**Title**:Front Desk Clerk

**Reports To**:School Site Coordinator & Data Management Coordinator

**FLSA**:Non-Exempt/Seasonal

**Primary Function**:
Front desk clerk represents the first point of contact with members, parents and visitors. Handles all stages of helping and registering students to enroll as members and is responsible to enter or update data into a computer system. The front desk clerk performs routine clerical and administrative work in answering telephones, providing customer assistance and data processing.

**Key Roles (essential Job Responsibilities)**:

- Enforce individual members’ identification/ guest visitation policies including verification of entry.
- Provide general information and answer inquiries about the Boys & Girls Clubs of LA Harbor programs and activities.
- Enter information into the database system and provide reports as needed
- Ensure all data remains secure and follow all safety measures.
- Responsible for sign-in sheets which are organizational legal documents
- Responsible for sharing data with staff to facilitate data analysis.
- Be alert to any situation or condition, which requires the attention of a Supervisor
- Responds quickly and effectively in emergency situations**.**

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the coordination with special events
- Keep front desk clean and organized at all times.
- Decorate Front Desk area.
- Updates/decorates bulletin boards in area.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
- Establish positive rapport with Site Directors, program staff, volunteers, members and parents.

**Education and Work Experience Requirements**:

- High School Diploma is mandatory; college experience is preferred
- A minimum of one year clerical and customer service experience
- Ability to use common office equipment
- Typing/keyboarding skills of at least 40 wpm

**Skills**
- Bilingual (Spanish is required for this position)
- Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills

- Strong organization skills with the ability to work on multiple concurrent activities
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive data and information.
- Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment concerning choices of action.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to deal with the general public
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stand, use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally life or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Tasks are regularly performed with indoor or outdoor exposure to environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperatures and noise extremes.
