San Bernardino County is currently seeking an innovative and results-driven **Deputy Director of Veterans Affairs**. The Deputy Director of Veterans Affairs assists the Director in planning, organizing and directing a County-wide program to inform veterans and their dependents of rights and benefits, and providing assistance in obtaining services provided by local, state, and federal agencies and veterans organizations.

- Our generous alternative** **Modified Benefits Option** **provides a wage differential** of** **4% above the base salary** **with a complementing modified leaves package and benefits, including the use of increased pay rate to calculate County contributions to RMT, 401(k), and 457(b) plans, leaves cash outs, and retirement contribution rates.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**

**Pre-Employment Process**: Applicant must successfully pass a background check and medical exam prior to appointment.

**Travel/License**:A valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment. Employees in this class may be required to use personal vehicles and show proof of automobile liability insurance.
- Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Proposition 172 Sales Tax Collections performance._

**Minimum Requirements**:
**EDUCATION**:

- Must possess a completed bachelor's degree in business or public administration, management, behavioral/social science, or closely related field.**_ - AND -_**

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Must possess four (4) years of management experience in a public agency, private non-profit agency, or similar organization **_AND_**_ _**two (2) years of full-scope supervisory responsibility (may be concurrent).**_
