The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, orients, trains and supervises volunteers, coordinates their assignments and oversees their performance as part of the interdisciplinary team. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of volunteer services, complying with regulatory requirements and reporting to management.

The Volunteer Coordinator works cooperatively in coordination with the hospice and palliative care teams to assess needs of patients and placement of volunteers. This position requires a desire to work directly with volunteers, clinical and administrative staff, patients and families. Must be able to utilize computers and be comfortable with electronic medical records. Must be able to meet with volunteers, staff, patients and families in person and/or remotely. Must be willing to travel between several Southern California counties.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor's degree in human services and/or public relations related fields.
- At least one year experience as a volunteer and preferably as a volunteer coordinator.
- Hospice experience and/or commitment to hospice philosophy
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to connect with volunteers, staff, patients, families and community.
- Valid driver's license, and auto insurance, reliable/well maintained transportation.
