Facility Operations Assistant

Overview:
**Duties**:
- Ensure the day-to-day operations of the facilities and grounds are carried out in a manner consistent with American Yacht Club policies and management directives.
- Support the Grounds Supervisor with the landscaping, maintenance of janitorial, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and any other items required within the scope of respective sites.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety, environment, and risk management policies and procedures in conjunction with the Clubhouse Manager.
- Routinely inspect buildings to determine the need for repairs and conduct repairs as needed. This includes exterior/interior of the building, roof, HVAC systems, exterior/interior lighting, painting, scraping, power washing, preventative maintenance inspections, lawn, tree limb removal, snow plowing, shoveling, and cleaning/restocking materials and supplies as needed.
- Address complaints/requests promptly.
- Conduct performance checks on all machines and equipment.
- Ensure all fluids, chemicals, etc. are stored in the appropriate containers and fire-safe cabinets.
- Able and willing to travel to various locations to pick up/deliver items as needed.
**Additional Responsibilities**:
Sets up chairs, podiums and related equipment for seminars and
special events, and loads, unloads and assembles furniture and equipment as
assigned.
Performs routine and unskilled work such as carrying supplies and equipment,
erecting ladders and scaffolding, cleaning, flushing and repairing gutters and
drains, preparing surfaces and spreading paint, loading and unloading trucks,, and cleaning the work site after repair work is completed.
Operates self-propelled and motorized equipment, such as lawn mowers, pumps,
compressors, vehicles, small trucks, and snow removal equipment.
Cleans buildings and facilities, which includes but is not limited to: emptying trash receptacles; and assisting with housekeeping when needed.
Performs a variety of routine building maintenance tasks such as unclogging
toilets and sinks and changing light bulbs and tubes.
Moves heavy supplies, furniture, and equipment.
Loads and unloads heavy equipment, supplies, and furniture by physically lifting
items or operating a hand truck, forklift or pallet jack.
Performs general grounds maintenance tasks such as clearing sites, raking or
wood, trimming and removing trees and shrubs, maintaining roads and
sidewalks, and removing snow, trash and other obstructions from the building
and surrounding areas. Loads trucks with debris, dirt and other materials.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
