**Duties**

We are looking for a Specialty Underwriter-Environmental to join our team

Summary
- Under moderate direction and supervision, underwrites and markets assigned products by providing intermediate levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability. May provide intermediate level of financial analysis to determine credit quality.

A typical day will include the following:
Assists with gathering and analyzing information, applies appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of acceptability of risk. May evaluate credit quality.
May ensure credit quality of accounts managed while maintaining and updating underwriting files.
Participates in marketing activities within the region to promote the development of new business.
Participates in the producer management process which may include, but is not limited to, premium collections.
Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions.
Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum 3-5 years of related industry (environmental consulting or underwriting)/brokerage experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Broker License and Surplus Lines License a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
