Academic Program Advisors serve as the frontline contacts for students and faculty. They assist in the administrative coordination and content development of an academic program, including graduate or undergraduate degree programs, or summer or January term sessions. They collaborate with other academic initiatives to integrate program activities. They advise students, as well as offer a range of services in support of students. Student Academic Program Advisors operate under the guidance of Senior Academic Officers, normally in a dean's office.

**Position Description**:
The Assistant Director is responsible for supervising and developing a cohort of near-peer college advisers, as well as fostering and maintaining strong relationships with partner school divisions. Supervision will include working with advisers and site partners to set yearly goals, develop specific plans, and ensure student-centered deliverables. With advisers and site partners, frequent communication via virtual meetings, site visits, and written electronic formats is paramount.

As a team, assistant directors lead and implement key functional areas critical to the VCAC model. This position will focus on enhancing the adviser and site experience across various facets, including management of regular communications, synthesis and delivery of timely resources, and coordination of adviser and site appreciation activities.

VCAC is a learning organization and utilizes data as a tool to measure impact and to create actionable program changes and refinements. We have a culture that values and seeks new information towards continuous improvement.

In collaboration with the director, the assistant director will establish and implement VCAC policies, develop innovative programs, initiatives, and communication efforts, and set direction and priorities for each program year.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
- Experience: At least four years of relevant experience.

This position is Hybrid located in Charlottesville, VA.

This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. Anticipated Hiring Range: $60,000 - $65,000 commensurate with education, experience, and demonstrated past performance.
