Welcome to the Sturbridge Cooperative Nursery School. As part of the educational process, communication is essential between teachers, students, and parents. The Sturbridge Nursery School is a cooperative experience where parent/guardian involvement is crucial to the success of the school. Parents/guardians are scheduled to volunteer within the classroom and help maintain the building and grounds throughout the year. Greater caregiver involvement allows families to share in and add to their child's preschool experience and allows the children to see that their education is an important part of family life. At the Sturbridge Cooperative Nursery School, we strive to not only offer high-quality learning opportunities for the children, but also to support you and our families whenever we can. **REPORTS TO**:
Board of Directors Director/Lead Teacher

**RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Teacher for preschool classroom

▪ Assists Director / Lead Teacher plan and implements curriculum in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures

▪ Collaborates and creates curriculum and instructional materials which are developmentally appropriate for three to five years old

▪ Assists Director / Lead Teacher in observation and evaluation of each child’s progress

▪ Assists Director / Lead Teacher in supervision of parent volunteers

▪ Actively participates in parent conferences

▪ Attends monthly staff meeting

▪ Performs other duties assigned such as menu records, food purchasing, cleaning, classroom set up and breakdown.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
▪ A valid MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or Early Childhood License with or without Disabilities.

▪ Meets all current state licensing requirements and has approved CORI and Fingerprinting results

▪ At least two years of successful experience preferred

▪ Certification in Infant -Child CPR (maintained on a yearly basis) and Certification in Infant - Child Health and Safety (course must be repeated every three years)

**POSITION HOURS & SALARY**:
▪ Part Time (Morning Preschool Program)

▪ Salary based on $18-$28 per hour DOE

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour

- High school or equivalent (required)
