Summer Camp Counselor

Join our successful summer camp program as one of our engaging summer camp counselors. This unique, creative, and fun individual will be assigned to a group and will engage students while supporting the program's overall goals.

Dates: July 10, 2023- September 1st, 2023 (must be available on all DATES)

Days: Monday through Friday
Time: 8:30AM- 5:30PM/11AM- 7PM
- Must be available 5 days a week during program hours.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants in the program, by providing appropriate supervision at all times.
- Plan and implement meaningful activities, lesson plans, and special events that are age-appropriate and exciting based in the areas of arts, STEM, character development, creative expression, community service, physical fitness, and/or nutrition
- Maintain accurate program documentation (attendance, sign in/out forms, behavior/incident/accident reports, as appropriate).
- Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings, and special events as needed.

Job Requirements:

- Experience working with school-age children required
- Must be comfortable working with large groups of students ages 3yr old-13yrs old.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with other staff members to ensure the program runs at high quality.
- Can structure the program with engaging and fun activities, including but not limited to homework help, arts, and crafts, physical activities, team building, etc.
- Must be comfortable with swimming and supervising students inside pool.
- Must be able to supervise students on field trips.
- Must be able to walk, run, jump, etc.
- Must have a friendly personality and be comfortable communicating with parents of students.

**Qualifications**:

- MUST be able to work for 8 weeks starting July 10, 2023- September 1st, 2023 (must be available on all DATES)
- Successful work history of at least 2 years working with children.
- For LEAD counselors: A bachelor's degree (or working towards one) in Early Childhood Education or another field related to child growth and development is required
- A MANDATORY Extensive Background Check will be conducted before hiring.
- If hired, First Aid training, CPR, and other training will be required.

**Job Type**: Part-time or full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- High school or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Experience with Children: 1 year (preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

- Hoboken, NJ: Relocate before starting work (required)
