Kennel Technician

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to the animals in our facility. This is a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our furry friends.

**4: The better you are at this job, the faster we can get dogs and cats adopted. The shelter manager can then focus on getting our animals homes, and rescuing animals in high risk shelters before they are put down.**

**Duties**:

- Provide daily care and feeding for animals in the kennel
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, play yards, and common areas
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to the supervisor
- Administer medications as directed by supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior
- Assist with customer service duties.
- Immediate cleaning and waste removal after pets.
- Sanitizing kennel areas, hallways, and all surfaces.
- Housekeeping tasks such as mopping, laundry, dishwashing, and dusting.

**Skills**:

- Experience in animal care or handling is preferred
- Ability to safely handle animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic animal health and nutrition
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with pet owners
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking 50+ lb. min.
- Attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kennel area

Note: All positions at our facility are paid.

This position requires cleaning and disinfecting, there is no time for playing and interacting with the animals, as responsibilities of this position are to properly care for the animals and keep them healthy and happy during their stay until we find them their furever home. These pets rely on us until they are placed into new homes. You must be willing to work quickly and effectively at all times.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour

- Weekends as needed
- Weekends only
