**General Summary**

Under the direction of the Director of Aggregate Operations and the Aggregate Area Manager, the Gravel Pit Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company’s gravel pits. This includes leading the daily task of production requirements in regard to safety, quality, productivity, maintenance and personnel management.

**Essential Functions**
- Maintains proper material quality and inventory levels of material to meet demand
- Occasionally may be required to operate various equipment such as loader, dozer, excavator, haul truck, skid steer to run materials thru a wash plant or dry screener.
- Development and adherence to site production schedules, budgets, production, and cost management. Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and communication to Manager.
- Assure adherence to all State, Federal, local regulations including Safety, Environmental, Permitting, and Zoning.
- Performs site and basic equipment maintenance/repairs and housekeeping duties. Responsible for keeping property in an organized, clean, professional manner.
- Responsible for keeping company property clean and maintained
- Personnel management and development, including but not limited to: hiring employees, training, disciplinary measures, termination.
- Responsible for facilitating training of new employees including MSHA and equipment training.
- Must be willing to work according to the company’s product demand
- Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations
- Responsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to Human Resources as soon as they occur
- Communicates with others within the company on inventory and day-to-day operations
- Other duties as assigned.

**Education**
- High School Diploma or equivalent

**Employment Requirements/Qualifications**
- Possession of a valid driver license
- Clean/safe driving record
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
- Hands on experience and knowledge of crushers, screens, pumps, haul trucks and loaders is required
- Knowledge of office systems, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel; other industry specific computer programs
- Personnel management experience preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to motivate and unite the team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
- General industrial maintenance/repair knowledge a plus
- Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, twist, frequently lift up to 50 lbs. stretch, drive/sit
- Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work; Saturdays and nights, may be required

**Working Conditions**
- Traveling between locations is a must; traveling will consume approximately 50% of the time. Works in an office setting 10% of the time, the other 40% will be spent outside working in a gravel pit exposed to various weather conditions ranging from extreme heat and cold, rain, snow, ice and wind
- Exposure to all types of terrain ranging from uneven, slippery, and soft ground
- Exposure to people in various types of emotional conditions

**Compensation**
- Hourly wage based on experience
- Discretionary bonus program

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
