Controls Technician

**Role**
- Support the manufacturing lines using analytical problem-solving methods to troubleshoot electrical components, automation equipment, PLCs, motion controls, vision systems and robots.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments and teams.
- Work with hand tools, multi-meters, and testing equipment to diagnose electrical systems ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC.
- Repair, replace, install and commission automation components including cables and connectors, sensors, VFD and servo drives, and other electro-mechanical related devices.
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and components.
- Perform tests and calibrations of process control instruments.
- Read technical and maintenance manuals as required to address equipment and instrument failures.
- Read and interpret PLC code to assist the maintenance team in diagnosis of line down situations and/or fault conditions.
- Follows departmental troubleshooting and escalation guidelines to avoid extended periods of downtime.
- Identify continuous improvement projects to improve personnel and equipment safety, operator ease of use, product quality, and equipment uptime.
**Required**
- 2+ years of extensive experience with industrial equipment controls, interfaces, and communication protocols in a high-volume manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures.
- Proficient in Interpreting electrical, network, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Proficient in selecting/integrating appropriate circuit protectors, wire and cable, motors, sensors, etc.
- Must understand the theory and operation of VFDs and servo drives with an emphasis on Allen Bradley products.
- Proficient in diagnosing device interface communications between PLCs, SCADA, MES, and other systems (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, RS232, etc.)
- Experience with Allen Bradley software (RSLinx, RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, AssetCentre, etc.)
- Required to climb stairs and ladders; required to conduct work at heights.
- Willing and able to work any assigned shift (day or swing), weekends and overtime.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
