Lanco, a worldwide leader in industrial equipment manufacturing, is looking for a Benefit Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily plan administration of the company benefit offerings for the USA and Canada employees. Perform administrative work in the various benefit systems to ensure that the programs are carried out in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include answering employees and management questions on the benefit policies, programs, and procedures.

**Essential Functions**
- Accurately and timely process employee benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and maintenance in both the company and vendor record systems for all of the various benefit offerings using the system tools and discrepancy reports: medical, wellness, HSA, dental, vision, short term disability, long term disability, group term life, voluntary life, retirement, etc.
- Provides medical support compliance.
- Performs administrative tasks such as sending notifications to employees.
- On a quarterly basis, enters proper company and division for the forfeiture report.
- Response to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.
- Answers employee benefit questions and resolve discrepancies accurately and timely ensuring employees are aware of and engage with Alex benefits counselor.
- Administer federal, state/provincial, and local leave of absence and accommodation policies and procedures consistently and in compliance with applicable jurisdictions. This includes accurate timekeeping for reporting purposes and premium payments.
- Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the employees initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
- Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
- Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws.

**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with payroll and benefit software
- Knowledge in basic benefits administration and procedures
- Knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and State and local laws.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
- Ability to complete multiple concurrent projects with time-urgency.
- Attention to details and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills verbal and written.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Ability to work with all levels of employees and participants in a sensitive and confidential manner.
