Title: The Columbia City UMC **Early Learning Center** is seeking one teacher passionate about working with children 6 weeks-1 year of age. Energy and enthusiasm are a must, along with desire to provide a safe, nurturing environment based on discovery.

ELC teachers are passionate about the future of young children. Teachers enjoy working in a classroom focused on the social, emotional, spiritual, cognitive and physical development of children. ELC teachers are team-focused, working toward the growth of all children.

The Early Learning Center at Columbia City UMC participates in professional development for employees. Infants through age two utilize Frog Street curriculum in classrooms. Employee incentive plan celebrates certification and years of service.

Hours are 11:00AM-6:00PM

**Minimum Qualifications**:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. **MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE**
3. Experience working with children
4. Willing to obtain training and experience necessary to develop consistent,
stable, and supportive relationships with young children.
5. Complete all employee records as required.
6. Pass drug screenings and unlimited criminal history checks.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

- Able to communicate effectively with children, their parents, and other staff.
- Able to provide quality, nurturing care to all children enrolled in the program.
- Able to demonstrate skills to properly address developmental needs of children.
- Maintains effective, working relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Has emotional and social maturity to act as a role model.
- Has the ability to move quickly and sit on the floor on a regular basis.
- Has the ability to interact with children both indoors and outdoors daily

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
