Job Overview:
Reporting to the Facility Services Director, this position will assist in the cleaning of common areas in the community, both exterior and interior of the facility, including residential. On an assigned shift, this position cleans bathrooms, common spaces, and performs related work as required. Work involves regular contact with other divisions, departments, residents, vendors, and the public. This position is located at a 55+ age restricted, high-rise in Laguna Woods, CA.

**Responsibilities**:
Sweeps, mops, dusts, washes, and cleans (windows, screens, carpets, walls, floors, balconies); picks up paper and other debris; empties and cleans trash receptacles
- Power washes common areas; front entrance, tunnels, stairs and trash rooms. Maintains and cleans the exterior and interior furniture of the facility.
- Assists other Towers personnel with lifting, carrying, cleaning and minor task as assigned.
- Works effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listens to and objectively considers ideas and suggestions from others; keeps commitments; keeps others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addresses others by name, title or other respectful identifier, and; respects the diversity of our work force in actions, words and deeds.

Required Qualifications:
Some education and experience that provides the following:

- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
- Knowledge of the materials, methods and practices used in cleaning operations.
- Ability to maintain a schedule of cleaning and work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, and other custodial equipment.
- Ability to work hours determined by shift assignment.
- Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.
- Ability to read and write work-related job instructions in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others in English.

Special Requirements:

- Possession of a valid California driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, grasp, feel, reach, climb, crouch, kneel. Carry up to 20 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs. The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time (up to 7 hours). The employee is occasionally required to carry up to 100 lbs.

Mental Requirements:

- While performing the duties of this job the employee reads, solves problems, uses his/her verbal and written communication skills, and has customer contact.
