Goal of the project:
The Anti-Hunger Corps VISTA program aims to address hunger, poverty, and build the capacity of the agencies that address these issues. Members will assist unemployed and under-employed people obtain job training, job placement, and financial literacy services; improve access to food from government and nonprofit sources for targeted populations in particular and food insecure people in general; enable residents of food deserts to access healthier foods through farmers markets and community gardens; more low-income children to obtain free school breakfasts and summer meals; effective nonprofit groups fighting hunger and poverty to raise more money and recruit and manage more volunteers, particularly high-impact and skilled volunteers.

Position Description:
Tackle Hunger: Home of the Souper Bowl of Caring, in partnership with Hunger Free America is seeking members to do the following:

- Support the work of the Tackle Hunger Map and Tackle Hunger’s mission to mobilize local groups around the country to fundraise and support local food charities across the nation.
- Collaborate with other employees on best practices to effectively communicate with food charities and support their work.
- The VISTA will work to connect TH constituents to current Tackle Hunger activities and events in their community that can be enriched with additional engagement and by helping food charities create support networks they can rely on all year round.
- The VISTA will help organize new events or communications, at a partner’s request, connecting the strategic work together with the mission of Tackle Hunger. The VISTA will help secure 3 new strategic partners for Tackle Hunger during the 24-25 season.
- Assist in leading presentations and discussions about collaborations with Tackle Hunger.
- Have basic programming skills to help guide growth in using technology to solve the complex issue of hunger.
- Support the overall efforts to engage participating groups like churches, businesses, schools and civic groups, to utilize the new Tackle Hunger Map to find and become a support network for their neighborhood food charity as a part of the 2023 Souper Bowl of Caring Annual Signature Campaign.

Qualifications:
In order to qualify for the position, you must be 18 years or older (no upper age limit). Members must also hold one of the following citizenship or legal residency statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card status), and persons legally residing within a state. Examples of persons legally residing within a state may include those holding the following classifications: refugee, asylee, temporary protected status throughout VISTA service, and holding Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.

It is preferred that applicants have a working computer with reliable internet.

IT, web design, and marketing skills are important.
