**Position Summary**
- Located in Chicago, Roosevelt University (RU) is a comprehensive, private, four-year university offering more than 70 undergraduate degree programs in the areas of arts and sciences, business, education, performing arts, and a professional liberal studies program. Founded in 1945 as an independent, non-sectarian, co-educational institution of higher learning, RU’s founders were determined to make higher education available to all students who could qualify academically. RU prepares students to become socially conscious citizens who are leaders in their professions and their communities.- As a designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), RU strives to utilize its position to develop and empower a diverse workforce in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by increasing the number of Latino and low-income students attaining degrees in STEM fields. Roosevelt University was awarded a five-year grant from the Department of Education through its HSI-STEM and Articulation program. RU’s HSI-STEM initiative, developed as the STEM Center, serves as the hub for access to quality STEM learning experiences where an array of activities is provided to increase STEM student engagement, retention, and graduation for transfer and non-transfer students.- The Transfer Liaison, in collaboration with the Pathways Advisor, is here to ensure a smooth transition for students transferring to RU from the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC). They provide high-quality academic coaching and degree auditing support, streamline and collaborate in the development of new articulation agreements, and create pop-up centers at CCC. This eliminates the need for students and families to come to RU’s campus, making the transition process more convenient. The Liaison also conducts outreach to CCC STEM students, helping them navigate advising, registration, and financial aid support services, and works with the STEM Center team to offer programming to existing Roosevelt and CCC transfer STEM students.
