**Job description**

The Society of the Little Flower, a faith-based non-profit organization working to promote devotion to Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, seeks an Operational Fundraising Associate. This position will support direct mail fundraising campaigns for the Society of the Little Flower, the League of the Miraculous Infant Jesus of Prague, and the Association of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, three fundraising arms of the Carmelites of the Most Pure Heart of Mary, a Catholic religious order.

The Operational Fundraising Associate will learn the entire lifecycle of a fundraising campaign, from processing, acknowledgement of donations. Duties will include processing direct mail through caging, data entry, shipping, donor reception service, and donor relation for events.

**Responsibilities**
- Caging: Donation processing - receiving and preparing mailed and digital donations for recording.
- Data Entry: Donor Records - accurately recording donations in our proprietary fundraising database.
- Shipping: Fulfillment - sending out acknowledgement letters and religious gifts.
- Museum & Shrine Associate: Assist with daily functions, programs and events for both the National Shrine and Museum of St. Therese.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Required Skills**:

- An analytic mind, accustomed to holistic problem-solving, critical thinking, and task-oriented productivity with the ability to dialog and express ideas verbally with competence.
- A flexible, team and solution oriented personality who enjoys learning and experiencing variety in daily tasks.
- Experience in telephone donor service and an impeccable telephone manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write, edit and proofread written materials.
- A fundamental understanding of nonprofit fundraising and marketing tactics.
- A deep appreciation and understanding of the Catholic faith.
- The ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet and exceed goals with reasonable speed and accuracy.
- Integrity, objectivity, and the highest ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbally) with visitors, donors, supervisory personnel and other team members.
- A Professional attitude, appearance, and behavior.
- Ability and willingness to work with others as a team player.
- Experience with a 10 key adding machine
- A deep understanding and appreciation of the Catholic Faith
- This is a full-time position based in our Darien, Illinois office in the greater Chicago metro area.

Job closing date: June 30, 2024.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
