**ROLE OVERVIEW**

The Junior Accountant will play a critical role in managing the company’s financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, expense reports, managing various accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting the Accounting Manager with complex accounting functions. This role includes preparing financial statements, overseeing general ledger activities, reconciling accounts, and participating in audits. The Junior Accountant will also work closely with other departments to support business objectives.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**
- Manage and process accounts payable (AP) and organize expense reports, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- **Accounts Reconciliation**: Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
- **Financial Statements**: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- **Process Improvement**: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- **Continuous Learning**:Engage in continuous learning opportunities to enhance accounting skills and knowledge, particularly in the private equity sector.
- **Ad hoc accounting duties**:Perform additional accounting duties and projects as assigned by the Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable and expense management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Excel, with a keen ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Ability to take initiative, assume responsibility and respond flexibly to changing demands.

- Advanced Excel capabilities for financial analysis and reporting.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- This will be a hybrid role based out of the Secaucus, NJ area with initial travel to Baltimore and Boston locations for onboarding.
- Reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
