**How will you make an impact**

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Scientist III. This unique opportunity will allow you to develop novel methodologies for genetic and protein analysis in our world-class research setting.

**What will you do**

Independently design and perform qPCR/dPCR experiments to screen variables and optimize workflows

Prepare antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates and perform protein detection assays

Design primer sequences as well as design and formulate original master mixes for qPCR/dPCR analysis

Develop new commercial products such as assay kits or master mixes related to dPCR/qPCR analysis

Troubleshoot workflow and assay failures

Analyze data, prepare high-quality reports/presentations, and present results internally and externally at scientific conferences

**How will you get here**

**Education / Experience**

MS degree with 5+ years of industry experience; PhD with 2+ years of industry experience

Equivalent experience in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field, such as industry experience or a strong track record in relevant research projects, is acceptable.

Experience with qPCR/dPCR assay development for genetic and protein analysis

Proficiency in statistical analysis and visualization tools such as JMP, GraphPad Prism, or similar

Hands-on experience with a variety of laboratory instrumentation for qPCR and dPCR

Proficiency in protein analysis techniques such as proximity ligation assay or similar methods

Experience with genetic and protein analysis of viral particles, including lentivirus and AAV

Expertise in bioconjugation techniques such as biotin-streptavidin binding, Click Chemistry, or similar

Skill in designing oligonucleotide sequences for effective hybridization/binding

Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as Bioanalyzer/gel chromatography, DNA sequencing, and UV-VIS/fluorescence spectroscopy

Strong understanding of molecular biology and related enzymes, including polymerases, ligases, nucleases, and proteases

Experience with experimental design methods, such as Design of Experiment (DOE) or alternatives

Competence in BSL2 laboratory techniques

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

Proven capability to autonomously develop and carry out intricate experiments

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot experimental issues

Strong data analysis skills and the ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports

Effective communication skills for presenting research findings at conferences and within the company

Experience in developing commercial products for the biotechnology market

**Compensation and Benefits**

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $102,000.00-$145,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
