We are looking for a Homeownership Specialist to join our team

Downstreet is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Homeownership Specialist to coordinate and implement our homeownership counseling programs. This person will help low
- and middle-income homebuyers achieve their dream of homeownership in Central Vermont.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage calls and inquiries from customers inquiring into homeownership services.
- Perform client intake with customers; provide one-on-one pre-purchase counseling services to include follow up, client file notes and file closeout.
- Manage homebuyer education workshops, both in person and through eHome America.
- Provide foreclosure counseling as needed, meet with clients, assist clients in completing loss mitigation documents, and conduct outreach to loan servicer as needed.
- Provide ongoing support to Shared Equity homeowners to include monthly and annual communication.
- Obtain and maintain certifications as required to include but not limited to HUD Certification and NeighborWorks NCHEC Certifications.
- Build and maintain accurate, confidential and complete client files including electronic and paper files.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education
- 2 years of experience in mortgage lending, financial counseling/coaching or an equivalent combination of education, employment, and life experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn relevant software
- Highly organized with a strong ability to manage priorities and deadlines and ability to manage confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, active listening skill and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to equity and inclusion and social and economic justice
- Valid Vermont Driver’s License and personal vehicle

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time

**Salary**: $48,000 - $55,000 per year

Hybrid remote/office work schedule available, after introductory period

Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
