Professional Pet Groomer

Earthwise Pet GroomBar Salon in Schererville, IN is looking for a Full or Part-Time Professional Pet Groomer to join our team. We are located on 173 Us Hwy 41. We are a locally owned business that takes pride in supporting our community with healthy nutritional choices, advise, and grooming needs for their pets.

Our salon is a no-hold facility meaning your appointment comes in, you focus on the pet from beginning to finish, and they are picked up when they are finished being groomed.

Position to start is an hourly rate until sales goals are hit, in which at that time migrating to commission based, sliding scale. Percentages are based on assessed skill level and experience. Generally, this is reached within 3 to 6 months as your build your schedule and clientele.

**_About You_**: You are a pet enthusiast who demonstrates a precise, detailed and caring approach to grooming dogs & cats while providing an exceptional level of service for the customer and their pet. You are comfortable around dogs and cats and are safety-minded with a gentle spirit.

Your Experience:_**

*You have a minimum of 5 years of professional level grooming *You have a high school diploma or GED. Some level of certification in grooming is not required but ideal. *You have experience working in a fast-paced environment *You have experience managing multiple tasks at once *You are an excellent time manager

As an EarthWise Pet Groomer, your responsibilities will include:_**

*Grooming animals to company and client's expectations and standards *Brush teeth, trim nails, express anal glands - etc... *Train how to use the Thera-Clean bathing system, promote its benefits. *Provide your own quality tools to perform the job to your best. *Maintain an upbeat positive attitude *Reading animal behaviors, calming anxious dogs, and understanding their limits - conveying that to the pet parents in a manner that is understood. *Create a welcoming environment for animals and their owners *Maintaining and adhering to all company safety guidelines
- Promote follow-up appointments & schedule your client's appointments
- Communicate with customers and other staff members in thorough manner
- Build rapport/relationships with customers
- Maintain clean working environment while following company policies
- Make product recommendations and additional care recommendations to clients as needed and for the benefit of the company

Additional Qualifications and Expectations:_**

*Ability to work with other groomers & bathers *Ability to lift large 50+ lbs dogs *Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time *Other creative services - nail painting, or other creatives. *Must have a professional book showcasing your work _(photos of dogs you have recently groomed within the last 1yr)_ *Ability for in person interview and skill showcasing - must be able to bring in a dog for grooming and critique as final part of the interview process

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
