Financial Empowerment Advocate

BASIC DUTIES: 20 hours a week: Conduct weekly financial education lessons through face-to-face and web-based (Zoom) classrooms. Be able to comprehend and effectively implement financial learning curriculums in an educational environment. Provide weekly one-on-one financial coaching and personal support to clients.

20 hours a week DV Advocate at CFS Office: Assist CFS clients with domestic violence education and resources. Attend CFT meetings, home visits with DV clients and CFS court. DV Advocate will also provide crisis intervention, safety planning and needs evaluations as needed.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Direct Duties for Financial Empowerment Advocate
- Conduct weekly financial literacy classes, in-person and online through Zoom
- Facilitate tests and quizzes to assess information retention measure knowledge outcomes
- Use financial assessment tools to help clients better understand their individual needs
- Provide weekly one-on-one goal-based financial help
- Offer direct personal support to keep client motivated to reach their financial goals
- Positively promote the agency in the community
- Prepare and submit reports as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Direct Duties for Domestic Violence Advocate
- Conduct meetings with DV clients at CFS Central office.
- Provide education on domestic violence
- Give appropriate referrals for shelters, restraining orders and other needs
- Crisis counseling as needed, complete safety planning with clients
- Prepare and submit reports when needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Strong communication skills
- 40 Hour Domestic Violence training certificate
- Strong organizational skills
- Desire to teach others
- Be enthusiastic and engaging
- Be a positive example and role model
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to meet deadlines

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
