**EDGE (Educational Group Effort)** High School is looking for a motivated, compassionate, and experienced English teacher to join our team at our Himmel Park campus in central Tucson. We are the oldest alternative school in Pima County. Our vision is **success for every student, every day**

EDGE was created with the acknowledgement that there are flaws in our educational system. These flaws too often allow students to go unseen, unheard, sometimes ignored, and at worst shamed and judged. This results too often in students falling through the cracks, not getting the support they need, usually leading to the student disengaging from school. We exist to be a solution to that problem. Everything we do is about meeting the students where they are at when they walk in our door, and then helping them and their support persons identify and remove any barriers to learning.

Our **WHY **is that we believe all students can learn and reach their full potential. **WHAT** we do is create and maintain an inclusive school community that allows students to regain their voice, recover credits, accelerate their learning and graduate high school. **HOW **we do that is through; a self-paced learning model and small class sizes providing ample 1on1 instruction, a multi-tiered system of supports that includes skill-gap identification and remediation, a robust Social Emotional Learning curriculum, licensed social workers on staff, and partnerships with other nonprofit agencies to provide vocational experiences and life skills instruction to students. The pandemic has forced schools across the country to think about learning and loss and mental health. However, both have been priorities at EDGE since our inception.

**High School Math Teacher**

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree in English or Education or related field
- Minimum 3 years of similar experience preferably in a school setting
- Highly qualified to teach English
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid and Current Fingerprint Clearance Card

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's degree in English education or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with high school age youth
- Experience working with on-line curriculum
- Valid Arizona teacher certification
- Fluent in Spanish

- Implement appropriate classroom management strategies.
- Develop and maintain inclusive classroom culture.
- Evaluate student progress on continuous basis and provide feedback to students, support persons, and schools staff.
- Model and teach goal setting strategies.
- Incorporate learning targets and goals that align with school improvement plan.
- Participate in professional learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning.
- Practice data informed decision making related to curriculum and instruction

Professional Learning
- Actively engages in professional learning including both internal and external professional learning.
- Meet regularly with instructional coach.
- Actively participates in PLC's twice per month.

Immediate opening.
