**Position Description**:
Registered Nurse will provide initial nursing assessments when required to determine current medical needs for behavioral health clients requiring services, 2-3 days per week. Will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients with mental health disorders. Will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals in a community mental health center/office setting.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN or ADN) from an accredited nursing program
- Current and valid nursing license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Conduct thorough nursing assessments of patients to determine their mental and physical health status.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs and diagnoses.
- Provide counseling and support to patients and their families.
- Implement therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or group therapy.
- Regularly assess and monitor patients for changes in mental health status.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Respond to crises and emergencies in a calm and effective manner.
- Implement crisis intervention techniques to ensure the safety of patients and others.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Document interventions, assessments, and outcomes in a timely manner.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Provide information on coping strategies and community resources.

**Required Experience**:

- 1 year working experience
- Experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing (preferred)

**Other Information**:

- Standard working hours will be between 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, 2-3 days per week
- Assessments will be conducted in a private behavioral health office setting.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Contract, PRN

Pay: $40.00 - $48.00 per hour
