**Primary Purpose**:
The SEMS Clerk supports the Special Education office by maintaining data management records of all students and managing the daily operations of the special education office on campus.

**Qualifications**:
**Education/Certification**:

- High school diploma or GED

**Special Knowledge/Skills**:

- Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing
- Bilingual Preferred

**Experience**:

- Two years of clerical aide experience preferred

**Major Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Responsible for a computer management system through district. This includes periodic reports in Special Ed. Manager and Skyward systems.
- Obtain data from assessment staff
- Verify data with assessment staff and/or campus personnel
- Enter new data into system
- Run reports and check information for accuracy
- Routine updating of files
- Provide information of all required reports
- Maintain active and inactive folders on all students
- Notify parents of impending ARD meetings and verify with a follow-up phone call
- Answer incoming calls; take reliable message and route to appropriate staff
- Schedule and send ARD/transition notices for students
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality

- Be proficient with current computer programs.

- Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; prolonged use of computer.
