**Description**:
The City of Norfolk, Maritime Center - Nauticus is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant II- Altru Reservations Assistant. This position will perform clerical, administrative, and financial support duties and provides records support. Assists with information requests. Manages planning and reporting processes. This position has key responsibilities related to the Altru ticketing system, will enter ticketing information and maintain the clean database This position will hold Altru Team meetings and through training, audits and database cleanup will lead the efforts to maintain strong database standards. Assists as third key holder and backup admissions ticket seller. Perform related duties as required.

Nauticus is a maritime discovery center located along the waterfront in downtown, Norfolk offering a unique form of experiential learning for all ages. Through interactive exhibits and STEM to STERN programming, Nauticus uses the museum, Battleship _Wisconsin_, sailing center, and Schooner Virginia to tell the story of the maritime environment, industry, and the military.

**Department Starting Hiring Salary: $41,187**

**Essential Functions**:

- Essential functions include but are not limited to:

- relating to visitation, program attendance, event attendance utilizing the Altru ticketing and reservation system.
- Performs financial duties and provides fiscal records support by preparing electronic documents relating to ticketing, reservations and the Altru ticketing system
- Supervises personnel as needed by participating in the hiring of new employees, training them to enter various data into related Altru computer program.
- Coordinates training for support personnel by establishing a system of identifying sources of information, arranging training courses, providing learning opportunities, monitoring and managing training account
- Assists with the information requests by accepting, reviewing and distributing documents, ensuring all departments/divisions/bureaus involved are notified, reviewing completed requests for accurate calculation fees and monitoring in-house records of submitted requests.
- Manages planning and reporting processes by tracking key department assignments, outlining tasks and deliverables and providing management with solutions and alternatives.
- Performs related duties by assisting with contract administration, running errands, attending weekly staff meetings and coordinating special projects and executive recruitment activities, and assigned research projects

**Education/Experience**:

- Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.
- Two years experience in office administration.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required

CPR/First Aid certification a plus

**Work Hours**:Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00PM, 40 hours per week. Position requires some evening, holiday and weekend shifts
