Overview:
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- The incumbent supports the Florida Regional Center’s classified destruction facility which coordinates and facilitates the proper destruction of classified IT equipment received from U.S. Embassies and Consulates around the world in accordance with 2 FAM 539.6. He/she reports directly to the FRC Information Management Officer who is the Government Technical Monitor (GTM). The duties and responsibilities are as follows:

- Coordinate pickup of all incoming classified materials from Miami pouch facility, located at U.S. Department of State - Miami Regional Diplomatic Courier Division, 2260 NW 66th Ave, Cargo Building 701 - Suite 105, Miami, FL 33122.
- Classified material pick up will be up to the Secret level.
- Drive to Miami to pick up pouch items, approximately two times per week, using a U.S. Government vehicle (GOV). This frequency may change. Must adhere to all Department of State and FRC regulations and processes in usage of those vehicles, as well as federal and state laws pertaining to operating motor vehicles.
- Load truck with all classified items up to secret level while adhering to all security regulations.
- Drive items directly to FRC, adhering to all motor vehicle laws and regulations.
- Destroy classified equipment, identified by the GTM or designate, in the Ameri-Shred Shredder AMS-QS-42100, or other appropriate equipment as directed by the GTM or designate.
- May be required to destroy other classified equipment, or any equipment identified by the GTM, at the FRC facility using the appropriate equipment.
- Coordinate with vendor for pickup of destroyed materials for recycling, which includes meeting vendor at the loading dock, assisting vendor with loading recycled material drums, picking up empty drums from vendor and placing them in the destruction facility.
- Communicate with the appropriate vendor, as directly by GTM, to pick up destroyed equipment.
- Move loaded drums to warehouse entrance for the vendor to load on their truck, using appropriate equipment for moving to w/h loading dock.
- Adhere to all safety OSHA requirements for working in a warehouse, including, but not limited to: protective clothing, hats, and shoes; lifting safely; harnesses as needed; and other applicable procedures. Contractor should provide all safety gear.
- Organize and maintain proper records of destroyed materials, using a paper-based filing system, as directed by GTM or designate.
- Work with Facilities Manager to properly manage and maintain destruction facility equipment, Ameri-Shred Shredder AMS-QS-42100 according to manufacturer’s maintenance schedule. This includes logging operation hours of the machine using a paper-based system, and minor maintenance such as greasing bearings after each eight hours of operation, and visually inspect the shredder blades for damage. Work with Facilities Manager and the vender for repairs and annual maintenance of the Ameri-Shred Shredder AMS-QS-42100. Maintenance schedule is included in this solicitation.
- Upon direction of the GTM or designate, coordinate with identified vendor for repairs. This includes communicating to schedule visits and meeting and escorting vendors during visits.
- Maintain appropriate safeguards and security controls of classified material per Department of State regulation. This includes securing the holding area and making sure all appropriate items are located within it.
- Physically move up to 40 pounds of equipment to place into shredder. This includes lifting the load about five feet high and includes climbing several steps. If weight exceeds 40 pounds, two people must move together. These movements must follow all safety guidelines for carrying heavy weights.
- Use special equipment, such as the hydraulic jack provided by the U.S. Government, move metal recycle drums weighing up to 200 pounds. Electric pallet mover for stacking pallets with materials on high shelves will be provided by the U.S. Government.
- Coordinate and/or handle the movement of large quantities of materials over an extended period.
- Use proper safety equipment to minimize injuries and exposure to hazardous materials.
- Develop and implement storage plans for assigned area(s) for approval by the GTM or designate and arrange for movement of classified material between locations.
- Responsible for breaking down and properly disposing of packing material into recycling bins in the FRC parking lot.
- Keep work areas organized, clean, and safe. Walkways should be free of items and clutter.
- Submit reports and provides status updates of destroyed materials to the GTM or designate and monitor the condition of the destruction machine daily.
- Must notify the GTM or designate immediately in the case of emergency, hazard, or other unsafe conditions. Must also report on issues with regard to equipment operation.
