Eurofins Eaton Analytical, Inc. is the largest potable water testing laboratory in the US, with over 100,000 combined square feet of laboratory space and nearly 200 qualified staff at our California and Indiana facilities. We also maintain service centers in Washington, Arizona, and Colorado. We serve more than 500 clients across the United States and in more than 100 foreign countries and are certified to perform Safe Drinking Water Act compliance analysis across the country. Eurofins Eaton Analytical, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for an Associate Scientist located in South Bend, IN.
**Main responsibilities**:
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:
- Preparation of samples using standard techniques
- Performing chemical analysis using standard techniques
- Calculating data
- Recording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
- Performing routine instrument maintenance
- Responsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s environmental, health and safety and quality assurance standards
- Responsible for general housekeeping in work area
- Ability to become trained and competent on complex instrumentation including but not limited to gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, atomic absorption, ICP, and instrument specific data systems.
- Works under close supervision using routine and standard methods
- Aliquots and weighs samples
- Washes glassware
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
Role is M-F 8am-5pm.
**Qualifications**
**Basic Minimum Qualifications**:
- BS or BA in Chemistry or related field. 3 years of laboratory experience may substitute for degree
- Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship
- Previous laboratory experience
- Previous production-oriented work experience
- Ability to use a calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts
- Ability to work independently following written or verbal instructions
- Problem-solving skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to follow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Organic preparation
- Metals preparation and analysis
- Gas Chromatography
- Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry
- Radio Chemistry
- Wet Chemistry
- High Resolution preparation and analysis
- Low Resolution preparation and analysis
**Additional Information**
**Salary range: $19-24/hour**
Please note - Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
