**Job Summary**:
The Temporary Youth Program Assistant works with the Youth Program Coordinator in implementing the Summer Camp program for youth in grades K-12.

**Summer Camp schedule**: This is a temporary position for the 8 Week program.

**June 3, 2024 through July 31, 2024. Monday
- Friday from 9:30 am-5:00 pm**

**Duties**:
Serves as a Youth Program Assistant in the Summer Camp program by:

- Interacting appropriately with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques
- Being accountable for the whereabouts, safety and well-being of all children and youth in the summer program
- Leading and facilitating program activities and help prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily skills
- Supervising children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities on field trips, outings and special event
- Promoting and modeling safety, fitness, health and nutrition practices
- Helps arrange for/serve appropriate snacks/meals, where applicable
- Observing program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed
- Ensuring children and youth (as applicable) depart with an authorized person according to written parental instruction
- Ensuring that the program area is secure and clean and that program equipment is in good condition
- Actively contribute to the organizational culture of outstanding teamwork
- Interacting professionally with staff members, parents, supervisors and volunteers
- Performing other related duties as assigned

**RELATIONSHIPS**
- Internal: _Maintain close daily contact with supervisor, staff and volunteers to receive and provide information.
- External: _Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, and others.

**Minimum Requirements of the Position**
- Must have High School Graduation Diploma
- One year of experience working with youth; tutoring or mentoring experience is desirable
- Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
- Must be 25 years of age to drive an agency vehicle
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record (NOT TO EXCEED 6 PTS)
- Must have and maintain a criminal history absent of convictions for violent crimes or for any crime against children.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications (or obtained upon hire)

Pay: $11.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
