**The Work You Will Do**:
This position is located within the Division of Regulation, West Palm Beach Regional Office. This position is responsible for performing regulatory and compliance duties involving agricultural and farm related activities under Chapter 450, Part III, Florida Statutes. The incumbent performs inspections and investigations of farm labor contractor’s and employees to ensure compliance with applicable laws in the counties of Indian River, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Martin, and Palm Beach. These duties include but are not limited to:

- Conducts on-site field inspections and investigations of farm labor contractors relative to registration/licensure, postings, vehicle and safety requirements, health and sanitation facilities, payment of wages, and other farm worker safety requirements.
- Completes necessary forms and monthly reports for all contacts and inspections made.
- Compiles and analyzes evidence of infractions through a review of payroll records, checks of appropriate insurance coverage and required licenses, interviews with employers/employees, and other documentation to support the conclusions reached.
- Conducts interviews, records statements, and gathers evidence regarding to the investigations.
- Develops case files on all contacts and investigations made resulting in summary of violation notices.
- Drafts written reports to communicate the results of inspection and investigation findings for post-investigative proceedings.
- Works with department legal staff in developing cases for administrative hearings; attends hearings and gives testimony concerning investigations when required.
- Coordinates and/or assists in joint investigations, enforcement sweeps, and task forces with other agencies.
- Works with other agencies on matters relating to the employment and safety of farm workers.
- Conducts and/or participates in training, technical assistance, and educational workshops with employers, crew leaders, farm workers, area law enforcement agencies, school systems, or other public/private agencies/organizations or associations.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of inspection and investigation techniques.
- Knowledge of and/or experience working in an agricultural program.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both in verbal and written forms.
- Possess the ability to speak in public forums.
- Possess analytical skills necessary to identify violations of statutes and rules, and identify elements of the alleged violations.
- Must be proficient in the use of computers and other devices, including Windows based computer software programs, i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel.
