Medical Reimbursement Specialist (Collector)

CLIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

HealthPCP, Inc.,is a rapidly growing suburban Revenue Cycle Management company with an office in Tinley Park and another in Chicago seeking Medical Reimbursement Specialists (Collectors) for its Reimbursement Department.

JOB SUMMARY

The responsibilities of a Medical Reimbursement Specialist is to perform collection follow-up with insurance carriers and /or patients regarding open accounts receivable and/or delinquent accounts to result in maximum collection for our clients. Tasks include resolving insurance carrier denials, appealing claims, contacting carriers on open accounts and responding to insurance carrier correspondence and/or inquiries.

The key purpose of the Medical Reimbursement Specialist is to pursue reimbursement of services rendered and achieve accounts receivable resolution. This team works through open accounts receivables (denials and delinquent accounts) by actively calling payer organizations or utilizing web-based connectivity. This position may include additional duties with respect to research and possible exposure to multiple practice management systems.

This position must effectively assist patients with sensitive and confidential issues, while supporting our obligation to our clients. Representatives must be able to independently handle multiple tasks, including offline responsibilities. In this position you must also set appropriate priorities with mínimal supervision in a fast paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES include, but may not be limited to:

- Update registration information post denial codes and adjustments in practice management system
- Research and obtain required documents to resolve misdirected payment issues
- Appeal and/or resubmit unresolved claims to insurance carriers
- Analyze and resolve moderately complex insurance denials
- Refers accounts to collectors in accordance with company policy
- Ensures appropriate HIPAA compliance guidelines are followed

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years experience in healthcare collections preferred
- Previous medical billing knowledge of GE Centricity, eCW or Greenway Intergy a plus
- Understanding of government and other commercial carrier rules and processing
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve problems and document the outcome
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to recognize trends
- Refers accounts to collectors in accordance with policy

Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
