Fine Grade Equipment Operator

Abernethy Contracting is seeking a Fine Grade Equipment Operator. In this role, Operators may operate equipment, including but not limited to, a skid steer and smooth drum roller.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work alongside motor grader to fine grade soil and stone sub-base, shovel, check grade and wet stone.
- Safe and efficient operation of equipment to meet production targets.
- Comply with all company and site-specific policies and procedures.
- Perform routine inspections, safety walk-arounds, and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Maintain equipment in good operating condition and reporting of maintenance requirements.
- May perform other job site duties as required based on job site needs.
- Respect and follow leadership and directions from assigned foreman.
- Treat co-workers, subcontractors and customers with respect and professionalism.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment preferred.
- Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations.
- Ability to adapt, prioritize and complete projects in a changing construction environment.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Have the ability to travel within 60-75 miles of greater Charlotte Metro Area.
- Must pass a pre-employment background screening.
