The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Office of the Director is seeking to hire a dynamic individual to serve as the **Director’s Special Assistant for Maternal and Child Health Services**, where you'll lead initiatives to empower birthing people and families in policy development and program implementation. Collaborate to shape impactful policies, advocate for improved outcomes, and drive positive change. - Serves as the Director’s Special Assistant for Maternal and Child Health Services:Acts as a policymaking
official
- Provides diverse, effective, and on-going opportunities for birthing people and families to express their views on
Department policy development and program implementation
- Under direction of the Director and in conjunction with the Department's Legislative Office, discusses maternal
and child health policy, finance, and outcomes with members of the General Assembly and other elected
officials
- Encourages, promotes, and collaborates in the establishment of policy to improve maternal and child health
outcomes
- Collects, analyzes and reports on data related to maternal health and child health outcomes
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated
above

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Requires completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in public policy, public health, public administration,
business administration, or similar field of study
- Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public policy, public health, public
administration, or business organization.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience working in the healthcare industry or government
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience developing and implementing policy for a public or private
organization
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience conducting research on healthcare policies, Medicaid regulations, and Maternal
and Child Health guidelines
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience serving as spokesperson and submit matter expert for a health care
program
- Advanced degree in public policy, public health, public administration, business administration, or similar field of study
