**Job Summary**: The expediter/food runner/server assistant maintains the flow of orders from servers to the kitchen, to diners, ensuring orders are completed quickly and correctly, assisting with the finishing touches on dishes, and conducting quality control. The expediter ensures orders are prepared in a timely manner, checks orders for accuracy and serves as liaison between cooks, waiters, and customers. In addition, they help deliver food to tables and assist servers with serving our members/guests.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Inspects dishes at the expo stand for cleanliness, presentation, and temperature.
- Performs the finishing touches to complete dishes, such as adding garnishes, removing smudges, etc.
- Informs the servers when certain dishes or ingredients have run out and passing food requests from the waitstaff to the kitchen
- Assists servers with carrying food trays to tables
- Refills beverages and ensures that everyone at the table has everything they need
- Clears dirty plates, utensils, and glassware from tables as required
- Prepares tables by changing table linens, clearing away crumbs, and setting tables with napkins, tableware, glassware, etc.
- Cleans dining room areas, including dusting chairs before and after meals
- Ensures server station is fully stocked
- Collects trash from dining areas after each serving period
- Keeps ice bins and buckets filled during service
- Executes all side-job duties as assigned
- Assists with setup and breakdown of banquets or other large parties
- Attends training classes, pre-meal meetings and staff meetings
- Follows safety guidelines in compliance with state, federal and local regulations

**Skills/Qualifications**:

- **Menu Knowledge**: Expo Food Runners should have a solid understanding of the menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
- **Food Safety and Hygiene**: Upholding sanitation and food safety principles is crucial. Food Runners must handle food properly, follow safety protocols, and maintain hygiene standards.
- **Communication Skills**: Effective communication is essential. Expo Food Runners need to coordinate with kitchen staff, servers, and supervisors to ensure smooth food delivery.
- **Physical Stamina**: The role involves standing, walking, and carrying trays of food. Physical fitness and stamina are important.
- **Attention to Detail**: Expo Food Runners must pay attention to details, ensuring that each plate looks correct before serving it to guests.
- **Teamwork**: Working well with others is crucial. Expo Food Runners collaborate with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to provide excellent service.
- **Availability**: May require the availability during weekends, evenings, and holidays.

**Deerwood Country Club** is the first gated community in Florida and steeped in local history, pivotal to the development of Jacksonville.
