At San Pedro Fish Market, our Beverage Service Attendant will work all aspects of the bar including guest sales, pouring and mixing cocktails, delivering beverages and overall maintenance of the entire bar area. This position requires a positive attitude, a desire to take care of our guests and the ability to work cohesively within a strong team environment. Any member of our crew should enjoy working in a fast-paced restaurant environment with the capacity to take and follow direction and multi-task efficiently.
**WORK TASKS**:
Greet guests and provide them with a fun and exciting SPFM experience as we help them Celebrate Food & Family.
Maintain a working knowledge of all beverage menu items with the ability to pair beer and cocktails with our food menu.
Deliver the correct beverages from the bar to the guest efficiently and with an approachable, upbeat attitude.
Follow city, state, federal and Company guidelines for serving alcoholic beverages, without fail. Ask guests for identification to validate age and be vigilant about reporting known or suspected invalid IDs to management. Do not serve anyone who cannot provide valid identification. Diligently watch for underage drinking. Do not overserve any guest. Immediately notify management if you have concerns about enforcing these regulations, if a guest is overly intoxicated or any other issues arise.
Accurately operate the Companys POS system, perform basic math functions and make change.
Adapt to changing guest volume with a sense of urgency.
Ensure the bar area is clean, stocked and well organized.
Perform work tasks calmly and effectively under stressful conditions.
Promote an atmosphere of teamwork by assisting co-workers.
Uphold the Companys service standards and KOF Teamwork Responsibilities.
Perform opening and closing duties, side work and ensure checklists are completed accurately.
Effectively communicate with crew, peers and senior management.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or relevant experience.
1+ years of bartender or guest service experience preferred.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
Current Food Handlers Card and RBS Certification must be maintained.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be legally eligible to pour and serve alcohol in a bar environment.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with others
Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
Ability to read, interpret and understand an extensive variety of work-related instructions and documents pertaining to Company operations, safety, finance, HR and payroll.
Basic math skills and the ability to manage cash, process credit cards and work the POS system.
Ability to effectively collaborate with others to reach common goals.
Ability to use the Companys timekeeping system.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
Working knowledge of city, state and federal hospitality guidelines.
