**Summary**:
This is responsible operational work in the collection of money from parking meters, parking lot maintenance, and trash collection.

Work involves responsibility for the safe and effective maintenance of Township parking lots and collecting money from meters on specific routes. Duties include assisting in removing and installing parking meters and installing parking meter posts. This work requires that the employee have basic knowledge, skill and understanding of the Township’s electronic parking meters and kiosks.

Works under the general supervision of the Director of Parking Services.

**Duties**:
Assists in repairing and replacing meter posts.

Collects money from meters following standard procedures.

Paints meter posts.

May perform general highway duties such as street cleaning, as assigned.

Performs related work consisting of cleaning, grass cutting, refuse collection and leaf collection as required.

Performs related work as required.

May be assigned to other Public Works divisions to perform required duties.

**Qualifications**:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be age 15 and currently enrolled in a Vocational/Technical School that is eligible to participate in a Co-Op program that provides both liability and Workers Compensation coverage for Co-Op students. Proof of enrollment and insurance coverage will be required.

Good knowledge in the use of lawn mowers and weed whackers used in general parking lot maintenance.

Good knowledge of the work standards and safety procedures in the collection of parking meter money.

Good skill in the use of the tools and equipment used in collection of money from parking meters and parking lot maintenance.

Good ability to perform parking meter collection of money and maintenance safely, effectively and efficiently.

Good ability to follow oral and written instructions and to learn Township procedures.

Good ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.

Some ability to complete routine forms and reports on work performed.

**Physical Requirements**:
Ability to sit for a minimum of 1 up to 8 hours, stand for a minimum of 2 up to 8 hours, walk for a minimum of 4 up to 8 hours and drive for a minimum of 1 up to 8 hours per workday.

Ability to bend, stoop, climb, reach above shoulder level, crouch, kneel, and lift up to 35% of the workday.

Ability to push/pull for up to 68% of the workday.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of tools, equipment and materials for up to 68% of the workday and lift and carry up to 74 pounds of tools, equipment and materials for up to 35% of the workday.

Ability to use right foot for operating foot controls of equipment.

Ability to use both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping and fine manipulation of tools and objects.

Ability to perform job functions using safety precautions around moving machinery.

Ability to perform job functions in all types of weather and temperatures.

Ability to perform job functions using safety precautions where environmental conditions may be challenging.

Ability to perform job functions using safety precautions where loud noise may be present.

This position is not eligible for Township-paid fringe benefits.
