**Duties**:

- You will provide professional architectural services for facilities maintenance, sustainment, repair, and maintenance projects on existing Dry Dock 2 facilities and for the construction of new facilities.
- You will conduct facility assessments, interpret customer requirements, provide architectural analysis and evaluations of proposed projects, and make recommendations for facility use, modifications, repairs and maintenance.
- You will perform advanced technical planning functions with the objective of preparing the Shipyard for shipboard reactor plant work.
- You will use knowledge to perform project administrative services, planning and facilities assessment services, design services, support for construction procurement, and construction contract administration services on all projects assigned.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

**Qualifications**:
**GS:09**:
In addition to the Basic Requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

- Experience planning work, preparing engineering work instructions, and reviewing engineering work done by Shipyard mechanics.
- Experience using computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, computer-aided drafting and design drafting, design, and presentations.

**GS:07**:
In addition to the Basic Requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

- Experience evaluating, advising on, and recommending acceptance of plans and designs.
- Experience interpreting preliminary design drawings and data from site visits and incorporating into plans and designs.
- Experience coordinating with and integrating the work of other engineers and architects.
- Experience inspecting completed construction projects.

**Education**:
**BASIC REQUIREMENTS**:
1. Degree: architecture; or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.

- _Related Curriculum:_ Degree in architectural engineering may be accepted as satisfying in full the basic requirements, provided the completed course work in architectural engineering provided knowledge, skills, and abilities substantially equivalent to those provided in the courses specified in paragraph A.
