**POSITION TITLE**: Supervisor, Migrant Shelter

**DEPARTMENT**: Refugee Services

**REPORTS TO**: Program Manager

**FLSA STATUS**: Non-exempt

**TIME COMMITMENT**: 40 hours per week and as needed to support program needs.

**SALARY**: $24-$26 per hour

The Supervisor, Migrant Shelter, works in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego in their provision of humanitarian care / direct services to migrants. The Supervisor, Migrant Shelter is responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of a non-congregate migrant sheltering project, including but not limited to daily transportation, meal ordering, medical care, essential item distribution, data cleaning, medical care, and any other tasks in conjunction with the provision of sheltering and wraparound services to migrants. The Supervisor will train, mentor, and supervise staff while observing the strict confidentiality of migrants and information. The Supervisor will implement the policies and procedures developed by the leadership team and collaborate with that team to continuously improve those policies and procedures.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Assist the Shelter Leadership Team in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency and the departments’ policies and applicable laws.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Provide orientation and training to staff regarding program and agency standards, scope of work, job duties, trauma-informed practices and mentor staff in skills needed to be successful.
- Assign and monitor staff in case management and support activities making sure work is distributed evenly among team members.
- Motivate and enable personnel to perform up to the highest professional standard.
- Serve as a POC/liaison for various service providers/entities, such as CBP, ICE, medical personnel, State employees, and others, to facilitate the coordination of service delivery in a prompt and effective manner.
- Manage all aspects of the operation: transportation coordination and scheduling, check-in and check-out procedures, client travel arrangements, meal ordering, credit card transactions, and medical care.
- Report operation needs to the Program Manager to ensure all material and staffing needs are addressed ahead of time.
- Report any issues or gaps that may affect program operation to the Program Manager.
- Respond to and remedy all incidents/accidents/safety/concerns that are reported.
- Ensure data on Access is cleaned by the end of day.
- Submit the Client Arrival Report to the State by the end of day.
- Track all program data and staff workload, making sure that program outcomes are achieved
- Job scope or daily work may be shifted to accommodate operational need, as identified by the Shelter leadership team
- Follow established program protocols
- Adhere to all agency policies and procedure
- Submit program reports and statistics in a timely manner
- Participate in departmental meetings, on-line webinars and other training opportunities

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**:

- Ability to improve integration of internal and external processes.
- Familiarity of local DHS and EOIR offices and procedures, preferred.
- Spanish speaking, preferred.
- Safe driving record as demonstrated by a DMV report that shows no violations/restrictions
- Must successfully complete a DOJ live scan
- Must successfully pass an FBI fingerprint check of national and state criminal history
- Tuberculin Skin Test
- CPR/First Aid Certification (desired)
- Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrate a strong sense of cultural diversity sensitivity
- Exemplary professional work habits verified by previous employers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication using proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with clients, co-workers and other individuals in a diverse, multicultural work environment

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**:
Valid California Drivers License and current automobile insurance in compliance with Agency requirements.
