Akron General’s 52A Surgical Unit is a post-surgical unit that specializes in general surgeries, such as bariatric gastric sleeve, Roux-en-Y, cholecystectomy, thyroidectomy, urostomy, and more. 52A is the primary trauma floor for patients not requiring intensive care, and these are high acuity patients coming from the PACU and ED who require close monitoring and mobilization. As a Registered Nurse (RN) Resident, you will participate in a year-long residency program, customized to fit you, your needs and your pace, where you will provide direct nursing care, be paired with a coach that guides you toward success, develop clinical judgement, cultivate excellent communication skills and acquire complex nursing skills. The caregiver in this role will be full-time and work 7:00pm to 7:00am.
