**Behavioral Health Specialist (Suffolk Co.)**

**Reports To**

The Behavioral Health Specialist will report to the Designated Clinical Supervisor.

**Job Overview**

As a Behavior Health Specialist (BHS) you provide1:1 that are designed to assist individuals with a behavioral health diagnosis (i.e., SUD or mental health) in acquiring, retaining and improving skills such as communication, self-help, domestic, self-care, socialization, fine and gross motor skills, mobility, personal adjustment, relationship development, use of community resources and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community-based settings

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Assist individuals with a behavioral health diagnosis (i.e., SUD or mental health) via appointment at the individuals’ home or in the community.
- Helping the individual acquiring, retaining and improving skills such as communication, self-help, domestic, self-care, socialization, fine and gross motor skills, mobility, personal adjustment, relationship development, use of community resources and adaptive skills
- Assist the individual to locate a job or develop a job on behalf of the individual via the use of Individualized Placement and Support services.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences OR 1-3 years of experience in relevant experience
- Must work at _LEAST_ 5 hours a week.

**Pay Rate**:
**$40.00 per Hour**

**For staff who have lived experience, there is a $900 bonus after becoming a certified NYS PEER Support while employed with Allwel.
