Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Payroll Clerk is responsible for the coordination of payroll processing operations. This position ensures accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company. It provides statistical reports, on employee pay, vacations, sick, disability, workers compensation leave, taxes, withholding and any other matters related to pay. The Payroll Clerk assists the CFO to determine policy and procedures related to payroll processing legal procedures. It ensures maintains accurate payroll records and all operations according to Drew CDC’s policies and procedures.

**CORE RESPONSIBILITES**:
1. Compiles, verifies, and records payroll data such as hours worked,, vacation time, sick leaves, holiday pay, taxable and non-taxable wages, insurance, garnishment, and 403(b) deductions/matching/loan payment, W-2 withholdings and exemptions utilizing ADP Workforce Now.

2. Maintain payroll information by collating, calculating and entering, and reviews payroll data in ADP Workforce Now software system to ensure wages are computed accurately.

4. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

5. Process special payroll transactions such as corrections, replacements, final checks and retroactive pay as appropriate.

5. Track and update deferred benefits, including 403b, 457b, and other benefits and communicate with third party administrator, and update the employee contribution in the system.

6. Generate and review year-end accrual documentation and calculations in ADP for annual audit as well as prepare, provide documentation, and respond to any inquiries during the audit in a thorough and timely manner.

7. Work with ADP to create, modify, and/or run a variety of periodic and special payroll reports used to reconcile and identify errors, variances, and exceptions and to generate information for reporting and management information needs.

8. Communicate and collaborate with staff from other departments such as Human Resources Department (HR), on the resolution of general and employee-specific payroll issues and problems.

9. Assist the CFO to identify system configuration issues and participate in the discussion with ADP of requirements/specifications for new and enhanced payroll processing functionality.

10. Assist CFO to research legislative and regulatory changes affecting the payroll processes and makes recommendations to management staff on implementation strategies.

11. Assist HR to complete various employee training related to on boarding, to include timesheet rules and entry for exempt employees and time clock rules for non-exempt employees, or specifically requested training.

12. Attends various meetings, as designated, and required.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.

9. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs;
10. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in human resources operations or related field (preferred)
- Four or more years in a related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experie
