**About the role**
Every year, employers and employees spend over $5 trillion on benefits globally. From health insurance to saving for retirement, these benefits products guide families through some of the most important and impactful decisions in life. Despite the significance of these products and the dollars spent, the experience is still painfully antiquated, expensive, and confusing.
Rippling is building the first modern multi-sided marketplace that seamlessly connects brokers, employers, and employees with any benefit—our platform powers the discovery, purchase, and use of benefits products around the world. Our benefits vertical includes our Benefits Platform (recommendations, payments, and our benefits eligibility engine), our rapidly growing Benefits Marketplace of over 100 partners, and our natively-built Rippling Benefits Products.
Design plays an essential role in building out our vision for benefits and ensuring the product is intuitive and efficient, helping free up smart people to work on hard problems for their organizations rather than the busy work that often comes with their jobs. We hold design to a higher standard than others in the industry, and it’s an important differentiator for us. The user experience is essential in building trust with our customers so they can feel confident that important aspects of their business run without fail for their employees. As designers, you’re responsible for creating these experiences that solve real everyday problems for employees.
**What you will do**- Manage a business-critical team, a top company initiative helping drive Rippling’s rapid growth.- Join the benefits leadership team and partner with Product and Engineering to craft a new vision for our benefits platform and marketplace, and improve and scale our existing benefits products.- Work closely with our Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and executive leadership to deliver best-in-class, innovative work that pushes the limits of possible.- Operate as a player-coach to design new experiences that leverage AI, automation, and Rippling’s core platform capabilities to create consumer-grade marketplace experiences that enable employees and companies to select the right benefits to manage their health and finances.- Manage a team of three seasoned product designers working end-to-end on various mission-critical products.- Create a culture of craft, quality, and execution by inspiring, motivating, and leading product designers across experience levels to do the best work of their careers
**What you will need**
- You have 10+ years of professional design experience and 4+ years managing and leading design and creative teams.
- You have brought a relentless customer focus to high-impact, high-visibility projects.
- You’re a systems thinker and have led the design of an integrated suite of products or ecosystem of features.
- You excel at written and verbal communication and use these skills to persuade and influence stakeholders toward building innovative products that uniquely resonate with customers.
- You work collaboratively with Engineering, Product, and Marketing team members to drive strategy and design execution.
- You have led, recruited, and scaled design teams at both startups and established companies.
- You have experience systematically growing product designers' skills so they do the best work of their careers.
- You aligned with Rippling’s leadership principles
**Additional Information**
Rippling highly values having employees working in-office to foster a collaborative work environment and company culture. For office-based employees (employees who live within a 40-mile radius of a Rippling office), Rippling considers working in the office at least three days a week, under current policy, to be an essential function of the employee's role.
This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity. The salary for US-based employees will be aligned with one of the ranges below based on location.
