Chiropractic Assistant/receptionist

**Duties include but not limited to**:
- Answer and direct phone calls with exceptional customer service
- Handle and coordinate new and existing patient appointment scheduling
- Obtain patient, billing and insurance information in order to maintain current and accurate information in the patient files in our medical software system
- Prepare forms and reports
- Conduct patient and insurance billing and collection activities
- Perform general clerical functions as necessary including filing, copying, scanning, faxing
- Transcription of consultations and examinations, physician letters, progress notes, discharge reports and related correspondence
- Working knowledge of all front desk duties preferred but willing to train
- Become proficient in explaining all patient services performed in the office
- Assist the doctor in aspects of patient care if/when called upon to do so
- Coordinate patient charts and appointments to ensure timely service within facility
- Verify insurance eligibility of patients as needed and obtain necessary authorizations
- Advise patients of their financial responsibility, obtain payment agreements for their portion, and collect payments on time
- Maintain proper handling of cash and credit receipts, daily entry in internal spreadsheets, and preparation bank deposits
- Assist with general light cleaning, disinfection and clinical aesthetics
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
- Keep office clean and tidy
Hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 1 pm to 7 pm
Tuesday, Thursday - flexible
Saturday - 6:45 am to 11 am (every other week)
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 - 25 per week
Healthcare setting:
- Private practice
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to Relocate:
- Waterbury, CT 06708: Relocate before starting work (preferred)
